Who we are

Project Q is an educational and career-preparation website for quantitative trading, research, and engineering. References to “Project Q,” “we,” or “us” in this policy refer to the operator of this website.

Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, our authentication provider may process your name, email address, account identifier, authentication credentials, and security information. Project Q does not receive your password in readable form.

Information you choose to save

• Course completion and the lesson you most recently opened.
• Application-tracker entries, including company, role, application date, status, stage, follow-up date, link, and notes.
• Messages or information you send when contacting us.

Browser and service information

The site and its infrastructure may process basic request, device, browser, IP-address, security, and error information needed to deliver and protect the service. Theme choice, unsigned course progress, and some game results may be stored locally in your browser.

How we use information

• Provide authentication and secure account access.
• Synchronize course progress between signed-in sessions.
• Save and display your private application tracker.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the website.
• Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and prevent misuse.

We do not sell personal information or use application-tracker notes for advertising.

Where information is handled

We use specialist providers to operate the service:

• Clerk provides account authentication and session management.
• Supabase stores private course-progress and application-tracker records.
• Vercel may host and deliver the website.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Their infrastructure may operate in countries different from your own.

The roles directory links to third-party employer websites. Once you follow an external link, that website’s privacy policy applies.

Cookies and local storage

Project Q and its authentication provider use cookies or similar storage that are necessary to keep you signed in, prevent abuse, and remember service preferences. The site also uses browser storage for preferences such as theme and for selected local progress or game scores.

Project Q does not currently use behavioural advertising cookies. If this changes, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated.

Retention and security

Account-linked information is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security, and satisfy legal obligations. Local browser information remains until you clear it or the site removes it.

We use access controls, authenticated server routes, restricted database permissions, and encrypted network connections where supported. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so avoid storing highly sensitive information in application notes.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information associated with your Project Q account. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply.

Children and changes

Project Q is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.

We may update this policy as the service changes. The updated date will appear at the top of the page. Material changes will be communicated through the website or another appropriate channel.
